STEEL HORIZONS is an instrumental solo or two piece steel drum band located in South Jersey. Our latest option offers two steel drummers along with a violinist. Since forming in 2002,STEEL HORIZONS has played for numerous private affairs as well as many public establishments in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.   We can be hired for many different types of events,  including weddings, cocktail receptions, restaurants, parties, and corporate events. For our performances, we use professional pre-recorded rhythm tracks to provide us with a full band sound.

BIOGRAPHY

Ed Zatzariny began playing drumset at the age of nine.  About six months later, he heard the Jimi Hendrix album "Are You Experienced" for the first time, and the rest is history!  Ed attended the University of North Texas where he received his bachelor's degree in  music education.  While at the University of North Texas, Ed performed with the 2 o'clock Steel Drum Band directed by the late Jon Kellis.   He currently teaches instrumental music in the Vineland Public School District.   Ed plays lead (tenor) pan.

Doug Neder is the newest addition to Steel Horizons Pan Group.  Doug is a multi instrumentalist with a strong piano background.  Doug has a BA from The College of New Jersey and a Master’s in Music Education from University of the Arts in Philadelphia.  Currently, Doug is the director of the Vineland Public School’s String Ensemble Program.  Doug has previously played in many touring bands, as well as being featured as a pianist on Carnival Cruise Lines.  You may also have recently seen Doug perform in the Legends in Concert Show the summer of 2019, playing keyboards for the Harrah’s, Atlantic City run.  Doug is also the organist for two churches, and continues to play every Sunday.  Doug has previously been a student of Dr. Barry Harris, traveling weekly to NYC to attend his master classes.  Doug continues to be both an active educator, and professional musician in the Philadelphia area.  Doug plays guitar pans and brings a lot of musical knowledge and creativity to the group.

Don Bossi began playing trumpet at the age of 10.  He has since been self taught learning the guitar, saxophone, clarinet, piano, and steel pans. His major influences are Louis Armstrong and Frank Zappa. Don plays guitar pans. 

Vlada Kozub began playing violin at the age of six.  She attended the Ukraine Special Music School in Kharkov for 8 years and then studied music performance for 4 years at Kherson State University in Ukraine.
